Membership Acceptance Criterion

There are 3 types of membership for BKM.

In order to be a member in the status of a Bank, the applying legal entity must be,

A bank, subject to current Turkish banking law and other Turkish legislation related to banking, which issues or plans to issue cards under its name or concludes or plans to conclude merchant agreements and has obtained “necessary permits” from competent authorities.

In order to be a member in the status of an Institution, the applying legal entity must be,

An institution,

• which is a member of at least one of the card system organizations and plans to operate within the context of Bank Cards and Credit Cards Law, No. 5464, and has obtained operating license from competent authorities for that purpose,

or

• which is a member of at least one of the card system organizations and plans to operate within the context of Payment and Securities Settlement Systems, Payment Services and Electronic Money Institutions Law, No.6493, and has obtained operating license from competent authorities for that purpose,

In order to be a member in the status of a Service Provider Institution, the applying legal entity must be,

An institution which provides services to member(s) of BKM in the status of a Bank/an Institution in relation to payment services they receive from BKM

Important Information for BKM Membership Process

Banks and Institutions, that meets the membership criteria may apply for BKM Membership by providing the related forms and documents.

Following the BKM membership acceptance, Bank/Institution must meet administrative, technical and financial requirements. Bank/Institution must provide necessary infrastructure and the equipment and to complete the necessary certification process for at least one product or service within the next 12 months following the contract sign, otherwise membership contract will been terminated immediately.

BKM Fees

• BKM Membership Fee – Paid once, following the BKM Membership contract process.
• BKM Membership Application Fee – Paid once, following the delivery of “BKM Pre-Membership Application Form”.
• BKM Fixed Services Fee – Monthly fixed fee.
• Product and Services Fees –Monthly fee, collected based on the products and services used.
